49-Year-Old Ryan Furnas Dies in New Braunfels, TX Accident

Cyclist struck by train while riding on railroad tracks

A tragic accident occurred on February 24 in New Braunfels, TX, when 49-year-old Ryan Furnas was struck and killed by a train while riding his bicycle on railroad tracks in the 200 block of North Solms Road shortly after 10:45 p.m. Emergency crews could not revive him. Preliminary findings indicate he was riding directly on the tracks. No other injuries were reported. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
