49-Year-Old Oscar Cantu Killed in Brownsville, TX Accident

Pedestrian struck on Padre Island Highway

A tragic accident occurred on January 20 in Brownsville, Texas, when 49-year-old Oscar Cantu was fatally injured in a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Padre Island Highway. Authorities said Cantu was crossing the roadway in the 6500 block just after 7:30 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. He later died at a hospital. The driver remained at the scene.
