45-Year-Old Donnell Oakes Killed In Bedford Stuyvesant, NY Accident

 Tragic accident that occurred on Sunday, August 29 in Bedford Stuyvesant, New York. 45-year-old Donnell Oakes was tragically killed when the motorcycle he was operating was struck by a vehicle on Halsey Street. The victim was traveling on his bike on Marcus Garvey Boulevard when a dark colored Sedan disregarded a red light and turned into his path. The victim tried to move his motorcycle out of the way but ultimately was unsuccessful. He was rushed to Interfaith Medical Center where he tragically later died. The hit and run driver has yet to be identified. The victim's mother said “I would tell him to turn himself in because you took someone’s life”. The crash remains under investigation and we send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
