42-Year-Old Lisa Hynds Injured In Sayville, NY Accident

DUI wreck on The Sunrise Highway

Tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, September 8 at around 12:25 AM in Sayville, New York. 42-year-old Lisa Hynds was seriously injured when she was struck by a drunk driver on The Sunrise Highway. The victim was a passenger in a Toyota Yaris that crashed and became disabled sideways in the center lane. Shortly after Hynds exited the vehicle, the Toyota was struck by a Jeep Liberty, driven by 37-year-old Daniel Lazzaro. The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to strike the victim. She was airlifted by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. Lazzaro was charged with driving while intoxicated. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
