42-Year-Old Cara Chitwood Killed in Clay County, TX Accident

Struck by pickup truck after exiting disabled vehicle

A tragic accident occurred on June 6 in Clay County, Texas, when 42-year-old Cara Chitwood was struck and killed by a pickup truck. Chitwood had stopped her vehicle on the left shoulder of U.S. 82 near Butler Road due to mechanical issues. After exiting the vehicle, she was hit by a Dodge Ram. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
