A tragic accident occurred on April 19 in Galveston, Texas, when 41-year-old Matthew Hayes was fatally struck in a hit-and-run incident between Avenue J and Avenue K. Authorities said Hayes was found with severe injuries and later died at a hospital. Police identified a suspect vehicle and arrested a 17-year-old driver on charges including DUI and collision involving death. The investigation is ongoing.
