Woman fatally struck on Cherry Avenue

A tragic accident occurred on September 23 in Long Beach, California, when 36-year-old Shalanda Young was struck and killed by a vehicle. The crash happened around 4 a.m. on Cherry Avenue at Curry Street as the driver of a Honda Civic swerved to avoid a man standing in the roadway. Young, a Long Beach resident, died at the scene. The driver remained and cooperated with police. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
