35-Year-Old Teri Hughes Killed In Asheville, NC Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on February 12 in Asheville, North Carolina.  35-year-old Teri Hughes died in a fiery hit-and-run car accident when a 2022 Dodge was driving recklessly on the eastbound side of Haywood Road. At that time, the driver tried to turn left at a traffic light, exited the roadway, and slammed into a building. After impact, the Dodge erupted in flames. Teri Hughes, a front-seat passenger, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Mission Hospital where she died. Authorities say the driver and two additional passengers in the Dodge left the scene and remain unidentified.  Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 828-252-1110.
