Hunter was standing outside of her vehicle near Exit 51. The impact threw Hunter off the elevated Bruckner Expressway to Bronx River Avenue below. The unidentified driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the collision. Hunter was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where she later succumbed to injuries. Police are looking for the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle.
