31-Year-Old Luis Alberto Deras Killed in Newark, CA Accident

Solo-Vehicle Crash on Thornton Avenue Near Hickory Street

A tragic accident occurred on September 25 in Newark, California, when 31-year-old Luis Alberto Deras was killed in a solo-vehicle crash. Around 5:28 p.m., a Toyota Prius carrying Deras and a 33-year-old Hayward man failed to negotiate a curve on westbound Thornton Avenue and struck a tree. Deras was ejected and died at the scene. The driver also died in the crash. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family.
