3-Month-Old Celeste Leyva Killed In Merced, CA Accident

Head on crash along Highway 140

Tragic accident that occurred on October 13 in Merced, California. 3-month-old Celeste Leyva was killed on Friday night in a DUI-related head-on crash along Highway 140. A Ford Explorer was eastbound on the highway and drifted onto the shoulder when the driver overcorrected. The Explorer ended up traveling into the westbound lane where it crashed head-on with a Ford Expedition occupied by seven people. Infant Leyva was amongst one of three people killed. Officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. The highway patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
