29-Year-Old Joel Gonzalez Killed in Santa Barbara, CA Accident

Impaired driver strikes and kills cyclist on State Street

A tragic accident occurred on May 18 in Santa Barbara, California, when 29-year-old Joel Gonzalez was struck and killed while riding an electric bicycle. The crash occurred around 9:37 p.m. near State and Mission Streets. A 36-year-old woman, reportedly intoxicated, was driving a black SUV that collided with Gonzalez. She was subsequently booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on $100,000 bail. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
