The California Highway Patrol is investigating a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian collision that claimed the life of a Santa Rosa man. The 36-year-old victim was struck by a 2019 Toyota Tundra driven by 24-year-old Alvaro Alvalos. The unidentified victim was in a crosswalk at the intersection of Verano Avenue and Highway 12. The pedestrian, whose identity was not disclosed by CHP, was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP continues to investigate.
