22-Year-Old Jace Taylor Killed In Tyler, TX Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, January 12 in Tyler, Texas. 22-year-old Jace Taylor was tragically killed in an alleged DUI crash on Highway 31 outside of Tyler. A registered sex offender was arrested on suspicion of DUI. In an initial investigation, the DPS stated that a 1997 GMC Jimmy SUV, driven by Ashley Wilson, became disabled in the eastbound lane of Highway 31. Two Overton men were attempting to move the disabled vehicle, while two female occupants remained inside. A 2008 Cadillac CTS, driven by 40-year-old Gary L. Nichols of Kilgore, was eastbound on Highway 31 and collided with the disabled SUV. The victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, DPS said. Nicols received treatment at the scene. He faces an intoxication manslaughter charge and also was charged with failure to comply with a sex offender's duty to register on a $25,000 bond stemming from a 2015 conviction.
