20-Year-Old Jacob Lewis Killed In Houston, TX Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on April 22 in Houston, Texas. 20-year-old Jacob Lewis lost his life after being struck by an allegedly impaired driver on the Southwest Freeway. Jacob Lewis was in a Buick LaCrosse that became disabled after a Taylor Swift concert. Charles Lewis exited the vehicle and began to push it along the shoulder of the freeway while his sister steered from the driver's seat. That is when Lewis and the Buick were struck from behind by a Volkswagen Beetle driven by a 34-year-old man. The Volkswagen driver fled from the scene. Lewis succumbed to injuries from the crash. A tow truck driver reportedly followed the Volkswagen and police stopped the suspect on Caroline Street. The driver fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. He was charged with failure to stop and render aid with DWI. Police said the suspect was a repeat offender of DWI. The crash remains under investigation. A GoFundMe page was set up to help Jacob's family. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
