According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2016 Dodge pickup was traveling at an unsafe speed while attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve. The pickup left the roadway to the left, overturned, and struck a tree. A 23-year-old passenger in the truck died at the scene. Washington was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital. No additional information was immediately available from DPS.
