A tragic accident occurred on November 5 near Dalhart, Texas, when 18-year-old Lakeisha Brown, a passenger in a Nissan Altima, was killed after a tractor-trailer rear-ended the vehicle around 1:40 p.m. on U.S. 87. The car had been moving slowly due to a flat tire. The driver and two other passengers also died at the scene. The truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Speed was cited as a factor.
