A tragic accident occurred on August 30 in Shafter, California, when 16-year-old Jonathan Enrique Medrano was struck and killed by an Amtrak train near Central Avenue and Central Valley Highway. The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m., and Medrano died at the scene. Authorities are investigating. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim.
